The immense importance of professional Public Affairs (PA) education and training of the PA personnel from NATO and Partner countries was once again in the focus of the Public Affairs Regional Centre (PARC). Namely, in the period from 27 March-07 April 2017, as part of its annual calendar of International activities, PARC organized the “Basic Public Affairs Course I” that gathered participants from Albania, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Turkey, Ukraine and Macedonia to learn and practice the basic public affairs tools for working with the Media.
Moreover, the two-week course provided the participants with the insight of NATO Public Affairs Policy and its elements, importance of Social Media in peace-time and crisis, basics of Crisis Communication and introduced them with the best ways for creating and delivering effective key messages. Furthermore, this course offered them an opportunity to get a solid practical experience in work with camera exposure trough a simulations of realistic scenarios for TV Interview, Statements and Press Conference.
Participants’ high motivation and dedication to enhance their communication skills and their unique contribution and engagement during the practical exercises made this Course even more successful. We express our gratitude to all of them for their active participation and would like to encourage them to keep coming in PARC, promote and share its values, but above all, to communicate, network and succeed!
