The Public Affairs Regional Centre (PARC) in Skopje is honored to have provided yet another contribution to building on the international team of future Public Affairs (PA) professionals in the Region and beyond.
This was achieved through the 2 weeks Basic Public Affairs Course, which took place in Skopje from 17-28 October 2016. This important international training activity was enabled through shared efforts (co-organized by PARC, the Kingdom of Norway and the British Embassy in Skopje.
The Basic Public Affairs Courseis specifically tailored to provide participants with basic communication skills and techniques, and to enable them to effectively communicate with media in a multitude of circumstances. The Course is fully aligned with NATO PA Policy and best practices, and is offered to all NATO and partners (PfP, MD, ICI) and partners across the globe.
In addition to the theoretical set up, the Course consists of numerous opportunities for gaining vast practical experience, which is extremely vital for shaping future skilled PA personnel. Upon completion of the course, participants are already familiar with the basics of Public Affairs and the NATO Public Affairs Policy, and will become skilled to deal with media, and be practically trained to write an effective press release, to give a TV interviews/statement, be confident in front of camera exposure, and actually organize and hold a Press Conference.
The expert team that conducted the training consisted of Certified Media Trainers (CMT) from Croatia, Serbia and Macedonia, enriched by lectures from International Subject Matter Experts (Ms. Simone de Manso from NATO Public Diplomacy Division, Mr. Franco Veltri, retired NATO PA Officer from JFC Naples and Cpt. Christos Smilianis from the Military Peace Support Operation Training Centre (MPSOTC) from Kilkis, Greece).
We are extremely happy that the feedback from PARC’s Public Affairs Basic was more than positive. The buzz words from Course’ participants are - outstanding, most useful, hands-on, practical, amazing experience, confidence, and of course – PARC!
We thank them all for their contribution and for making PARC more visible to our friends in the Region, Europe and across the globe! We congratulate them for becoming part of PARC’s family, for beginning their journey in the PA world and for further promoting PARC!
To all our future participants: follow PARC’s Calendar of Activities for 2017 (http://parc.morm.gov.mk/images/pdf/PARC_CATALOGUE_2017.pdf) and use the unique opportunity to train in Public Affairs, at times when PA becomes a skill in short supply and more needed that ever.
Come and join, communicate, network and succeed!
